One
tip that borders between online and offline
Press Releases
- Now I know what your thinking "How is a
press release going to help me? I'm not doing
anything news worthy". First thing to do
is make it your business or product news worthy,
if you sell apples send out a press release on
how you are the only company that hand selects
every single before shipping or how your apples
are used to make some of the best ciders in the
world.
Once you know how you're going to market the story
now you all you have to do is submit your press
release to press release websites and you're done!
Before you know hundreds of other websites will
be copying your article and posting it on their
sites and you'll be everywhere. Not to mention
at the bottom of every article is a link back
to your website.

Marketing
online is a great way to increase business but don't
forget about offline marketing as well - Here are a
few tips and tricks I use for offline marketing
1. Local Television
Shows - Pay particular attention to the content
offered on your local television stations. Do you ever
notice shows, or segments of shows, where guests speak
about various topics? If so, contact that station and
offer to be a guest. (One of my clients who sells
exotic fish was a guest on a local animal show and has
a great clip on his website from it)
2. Magnetic Car Signs - Turn your car
into a portable billboard on wheels. For about $125
dollars you can cover your car/truck in eye catching
vinyl and get seen by thousands of people a day. (remember
when you go to a shopping mall be sure to park in the
outer most spots so people driving down the road can
see your vehicle)
3. Funny T-Shirts - Ever see a funny T-shirt
that just made you laugh and laugh? Imagine if that
funny shirt had your URL at the bottom in big bold letters.
Do a search for your industry with the word "joke"
after it to get some good ideas. i.e.
"Insurance" + "joke"
"pizza" + "joke"
"web design" + "joke"
Trust me your clients will LOVE getting one of these
shirts and will often ask for an extra one for a friend.
4. Local Newspapers and Business Magazines -
Many cities have locally published business-oriented
magazines. These deal with local interests as well as
more broad topics relative to all businesses. Contact
your local magazine and offer to write a monthly or
weekly guest column for them. Your company will be credited
within your article.
